How to Do Isha Kriya Yoga?
Sit facing the east direction with a cross. Keep your back comfortably straight. Your hands should be open on your thighs, palms facing up. Sit with your eyes slightly raised, with your face raised. Keep a slight focus between your eyebrows.
Isha meditation
This meditation will happen in three stages.
The first stage:- Breathe in and out slowly and relax. Each time you breathe in, say in your mind: ‘I am not this body and keep breathing with this thought. Every time you exhale, say in your mind: ‘I am not even this mind and keep breathing with this thought. Do this for 5 to 12 minutes.
The second stage:- Keep the mouth open and make a long sound of ‘Aa… (A’). The sound should come from just below the navel. You don’t have to say it very loudly, just so that you can feel its vibration. This has to be done 7 times. Exhale completely while making this sound each time.
The third stage:- Keeping your face slightly raised, sit for 5-6 minutes, keeping your attention between the eyebrows. This entire exercise will take between 12 and 18 minutes.
