Dark Neck Skin

Sometimes we name the darkening of the skin as hyperpigmentation. However, a hormonal condition known as acanthosis nigricans can also darken the skin around the neck, also known as “dark neck”. Besan Ubtan

Traditional Ubtan is generally used to lighten the skin tone. Also, it contains several compounds that help in reducing pigmentation and brightening your neck skin. Gram flour helps in exfoliating the skin and tightens the pores.

Take about 2 tablespoons of gram flour, a pinch of turmeric, half a teaspoon of lemon juice, and rose water. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl to get a paste of medium consistency. Apply the paste on your neck and leave it for about 15 minutes till it dries. Wash it off with lukewarm water. You can apply it at least twice a week.

Potato Juice

Potatoes have bleaching properties which reduce the tanning of the skin. It also helps in removing dark patches.

Take a small potato and grate it. Now filter it and apply its juice to your neck. Later wash it with lukewarm water. You can repeat this twice every day.

Use sunscreen

Always use sunscreen while going out in the sun. Also use natural skin brightening creams containing albumin, licorice, and curcumin. It reduces pigmentation.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar balances the pH level of the skin. It removes dead skin cells and gives a natural glow to your skin. To use it, mix two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar with water. Next, take a cotton ball, dip it in the solution and apply it to your sore throat. Leave it for ten minutes and wash it with water.

Lemon juice

Rich in citric acid and vitamin C, lemon juice works wonders in lightening dark circles around the neck. Apply lemon juice on the neck, leave it to dry for 20 minutes and wash it with cold water. If your skin is sensitive, you can also add a little rose water to the juice. It would be best to practice it before sleeping at night and apply it for about a month.

Lemon and honey

Applying a mixture of lemon and honey on the neck can reduce pigmentation. Lemon juice has bleaching properties, which can help lighten the spots. It also contains vitamin C, which is an antioxidant and can help brighten and lighten your skin. Honey being antibacterial is also a good moisturizer. So mixing these two and applying them to your neck will be very beneficial for you.

Apply moisturizer regularly

Apply regular moisturizer after bath and before sleeping at night. They moisturize the skin on the neck and reduce pigmentation. Use aloe vera to moisturize the skin. Aloe vera, rich in antioxidants, reduces pigmentation in the skin and gradually lightens dryness. Along with this it also keeps the skin hydrated and nourished.
