Face yoga, also known as facial toning or facial exercises, is based on the principles of traditional yoga, focusing on natural and holistic approaches to improve overall facial appearance, relaxation, and well-being.
Facial yoga asana offers a different perspective and a unique way to practice specific exercises and techniques aimed at toning and strengthening the muscles in the face and neck. It is believed to help improve circulation, reduce tension, and promote a more youthful and radiant appearance.
Many facial poses help strengthen and tone the muscles of the face including the cheeks, jawline, forehead and neck as well as increase the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the skin by stimulating blood flow to the face, resulting in helps lift and firm sagging skin and promote a more sculpted appearance.
Regular face yoga exercise practice can help reduce tension and stress in the muscles of the face. This can contribute to a more rested and rejuvenated appearance and promote a more youthful and radiant appearance.
While the effectiveness of face yoga asana is not scientifically proven, many people find it beneficial and enjoy incorporating it into their skincare routine. Here are some common face yoga exercises you can try:
Face Yoga Exercises To Lose Face Fat And Fine Lines
Incorporate face yoga exercises into your skincare or self-care yoga routine to make it a habit.
Regular practice, even for just a few minutes each day, can yield better results over time.
Fish Pose
To do this, first of all, smile. Then rub the inside of your cheeks against your teeth. Make a fish face by sucking in the middle of the sides. Do this facial yoga 5 times to firm and tone your lips and cheeks.
Mouth Wash Pose
It is a very easy pose. The way you rinse after filling water in your mouth, you can do this yoga in the same way. After filling the air in the mouth, move the mouth like a rinse. Keep doing it for as long as you are able to do so. Do this process two to three times. This will get rid of the extra fat of the cheeks.
Lion Pose
Sit on your legs, get on your knees, put your elbows on your knees, spread your fingers and open your mouth. While exhaling from inside the mouth, speak harshly like a lion. Lion pose helps in toning the muscles of the face and reducing tension.
Cheek Lift
Smile as wide as you can while keeping your lips closed. Place your fingers lightly on your cheeks and gently lift them upward. Hold for a few seconds, then relax. Repeat several times.
Eye Squeeze
Close your eyes tightly and squeeze them shut. Hold for a few seconds, then relax. Repeat several times to strengthen the muscles around the eyes and reduce the appearance of fine lines.
Chin Lift Pose
In this posture one has to raise the neck and look towards the sky. After this make the lips as if kissing the sky. Do this pose for some time. Repeat this two to three times at an interval of a few seconds. This will show improvement in the muscles of the neck and the double chin will not appear.
Meditation Pose
You probably know about this. After closing the eyes in meditation posture, one should try to meditate in the eyebrows. You can do this for about one to two minutes. After this, the eyes should be opened slowly. You can also do this twice a day.
Conclusion
The movements that take place during face yoga affect the epidermis, dermis, and hypodermis (layers of the skin). These three are the names of the upper, middle, and lower layers of the skin. Engaging and targeting these muscles through various facial exercises, can improve muscle tone, stimulate circulation, relieve tension, and promote a more youthful and radiant appearance.
