Warm compress

Soak a towel in lukewarm water and squeeze it. Eyes are very sensitive, so keep the temperature normal. Keep the towel over your eyes for 10-15 minutes. The heat will start the circulation of blood. This will give you relief from swelling and itching.

Tea bags

Placing cold tea bags on your eyes can be an effective home remedy for eye infections.

For this you can use a closed bag of used green tea or black tea. Place the cold tea bag in your eyes and lie down comfortably. Keep the eyes closed for a while and keep the tea bag. After a while when you remove the tea bag and open your eyes, the redness of your eyes will reduce.

Some say that green tea, chamomile, rooibos, and black tea all have anti-inflammatory, soothing properties, which is helpful for quick healing of eye infections and itchy red eyes.

Cool compress

If a warm compress doesn’t solve the problem, you can try a cool compress. Dip the towel in cold water and squeeze. Keep in mind that the water should not be too cold, otherwise the problem will increase instead of reducing it. This will give relief in symptoms for a short time.

Sliced cucumber pieces can also reduce the problem of red eyes. Cut the cucumber into round pieces and place a slice each on the eyes. Leave it on the eyes for 20 to 30 minutes. You can also take rest if you want. Repeat this process two to three times a day to get better results. The cooling properties present in cucumber can cure the swelling in blood vessels.

Cut two circular pieces of potato, keep this slice over your eyes for 15 minutes. If the eyes are more red, then repeat this home remedy twice daily. Potato has astringent properties, which help in constricting the blood vessels around the eyes. It helps in healing burning, stinging, irritated eyes.

Drink plenty of water and other fluids to maintain moisture in the eyes. If you do not stay hydrated, it can lead to blood loss in the eyes.

Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables for healthy eyes, especially seasonal fruits and vegetables. A diet in which the amount of fat and sugar is high, they can cause inflammation if eaten in excess and can be harmful to the eyes, so do not consume such foods in excess.

Limit the amount you eat or include essential fats or fats in your diet, such as omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3 fatty acids are essential for maintaining eye health. It is found in flax seeds, walnuts, peanuts and fish.

In most cases, there is no need to visit a doctor, but if the following symptoms appear, contact the doctor immediately;
