Sunspots, also called liver spots, age sport, or solar lentigines, are painless, flat, dark brown or black spots on the skin. They are formed due to prolonged exposure to strong sunlight and ultraviolet (UV) rays. It is very common in people over the age of 40. They are sometimes referred to as “senile freckles”. How To Remove Sunspots At Home

The following are some at-home treatments for sunspots that may help to fade them or remove them on your face:

Lemon

This is a very easy way to get rid of sunspots. Lemon is rich in citric acid and vitamin C. Along with this, it is also the perfect bleaching agent. It lightens the dark spots on the face. But it should not be applied on direct skin. You can remove sunspots by applying them on the face in many ways.

How to use :

Take out the juice of one lemon and add some filtered water to it.
Apply this mixture to the stained area with cotton balls.
Leave it for 20 minutes and then wash the face with cold water.

Potato

Potato has anti-pigmentation properties. It is a natural bleach. Regular application of it reduces pigmentation.

How to use :

Cut a potato into two pieces and rub it on the pigmentation area.
If you want, you can rub the potato and apply its juice on the face. Either way, it will improve your skin.
If you have dry skin, you can add two drops of honey to it.

Green Tea Bag

You can also treat Sunspot with Green Tea Bag. The antioxidants found in green tea help in healing the skin.

How to use :

Keep a green tea bag in boiling water for 3 to 5 minutes.
Now put a cotton ball in this green tea water and apply it on the stained area with light hands.
Do this two or three times a day, due to this the dark spot will go away slowly.

Aloe vera

Due to the aloin content, aloe vera is considered a natural anti-pigmentation. Apart from cooling the skin, it also removes blemishes.

How to use :

If you have an aloe vera plant, cut a branch of it and leave it open for a while.
Now clean it and cut it in the middle and take out the pulp.
Apply this pulp with honey on the face.
If desired, mix Vitamin-E capsules in aloe vera cream and apply it at night while sleeping.

Almond oil

Almond oil contains Vitamin E content which helps in reducing dark spots. Along with this, almond oil also helps in softening the skin. Apply this oil regularly on your skin to get rid of sunspots.

Buttermilk

Buttermilk is not only beneficial for physical health but it is also a super facial peel. It contains lactic acid. Which reduces the dark spots on the face by removing the dead skin cells of the skin.

How to use :

  • You can also apply it directly on the face and it can also be applied with other ingredients.
  • Buttermilk can be mixed with tomato and applied.
  • Both have bleaching properties. Mixing both together reduces the sunspots on your face.

Honey

Honey can also be used to treat black spots. It is said that the polyphenols present in honey prevent the growth of a type of enzyme tyrosinase. These enzymes cause an increase in the amount of melanin, which can cause sunspots and freckles. In such a situation, honey can help protect the face from sunspots by preventing the tyrosinase enzyme from increasing.

How to use :

  • Apply honey on the black spot with the help of cotton.
  • Wash the face with lukewarm water after keeping it for 15 minutes.
