Mudras For Hair

To get healthy hair you have to invest a few minutes for yourself every day. Simply doing mudras for hair with your hands, you can make hair a lifelong asset. One such effective use of mudra is to promote strong and healthy hair.

Yoga Mudras For Hair Growth

The following mudras can help you for hair problems and ensure hair growth.

Prithvi Mudra

The main reason for the problem of hair is due to lack of oxygenated blood in the head, slow blood circulation, lack of vitamins and minerals. By doing Prithvi Mudra, the circulation of blood in the brain increases and fresh oxygen starts flowing in more quantity. As a result, the hair gets good nutrients, oxygen and blood, this leads to good hair growth, reducing the chances of hair breakage.

How to do it

  • First of all, sit in the position of Sukhasan or Padmasana.
  • Place your palms above your knees.
  • Bend your ring finger and touch it with light pressure with the tip of your thumb.
  • During this, try to keep your remaining three fingers straight. Do this with both hands.
  • Close the eyes and while sitting in this posture, keep breathing deeply for at least 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Your full attention should be on your inhaling breath. When the mind wanders, focus it again on the breath.
  • Feel that you are inhaling Pranavayu into your body and taking negative energies out of the body.
  • After doing this practice for 10 minutes, get up with a calm mind.

You can start with 5-10 minutes, after that as your mind starts to concentrate, you can also do it for 30-40 minutes.

Balayam yoga mudra

Balayam yoga mudra is also known as a nail-rubbing exercise, similarly in yogic language, Balayam Yoga mudra is also known as Prasanna Mudra. Hence Prasanna Mudra is an alternate name for Balayam Yoga and Nail Rubbing Exercise.

Balayam yoga is the act of rubbing the nails of both hands together. If you are troubled by your hair fall problem and want healthy, shiny hair then you must do Balayam Yoga.

Balayam Yoga is made up of two words “Bal” and “Vyayama”. In this way we can say that it is an exercise to keep the hair healthy. Nail Rubbing Exercise is an alternative reflexology therapy for hair growth that involves rubbing the nails of both hands with an equal force.

How to do it

  • For Prasanna Mudra, first of all, sit on a yoga mat in the posture of Sukhasana.
  • Before starting yoga, remove negative thoughts from your mind and calm the mind completely.
  • Now bring your hands towards the chest.
  • Now turn the fingers of your hands inwards and make half fists.
  • After this, mix the nails of the fingers of both hands with each other.
  • Now rub the nails with both the hands.
  • Remember that you only need to scrub your fingernails, not your thumb.
  • Do this yoga for about 6 to 7 minutes.
  • Be careful not to rub the nails too hard. Gently rub the nails, this will cause good friction between the nerves of the nails.

Practice Prasanna Mudra for about 15-20 minutes daily and be patient as it may take time for you to get results.

Prana Mudra

Prana mudra means “energy or soul of life”. Prana is of utmost importance among all the energies to maintain the balance of nature. According to research conducted in ancient times, Prana Mudra was an essential part of personal lifestyle. Although it is not a substitute for medical problems, it can prove beneficial for aggravating Kapha dosha and reducing Pitta dosha. Regular practice helps the energy to flow freely in the body.

How to do it

  • Prana mudra is done with the help of both the hands.
  • First of all, connect your ring finger and little finger with your thumb.
  • All other fingers should be straight.
  • Prana mudra infuses energy in the body, while doing this you have to continue the process of inhaling and exhaling along with the posture of your hand.
  • During this, keep your spine, head and back in a straight position.
  • While doing Prana Mudra, you need to take a deep and regular breath.
  • During this you breathe in and out at the same time.
  • While doing this exercise, you need to do this mudra with concentration. Only after that you can feel the energy in your body.

Enhances overall hair growth with improved prana flow, helps strengthen and lengthen hair.

Gyan Mudra

Gyan Mudra stimulates your memory power, nervous system and pituitary gland production. It is believed that Gyan Mudra has many spiritual, mental and emotional benefits.

How to do it

  • To do this, first of all sit in meditation posture. For this, you can sit in Lotus or Diamond Pose or you can stand in Mountain Pose.
  • While doing this mudra, the back should be straight and the head should be kept high.
  • Place the hands on the knees but the palms should be facing upwards.
  • Touch the tip of your index finger to the tip of your thumb.
  • The remaining three fingers are to be kept straight and outstretched. They should be parallel to each other. Do Gyan Mudra with both hands.
  • Now close your eyes and focus on your breath.
  • If you want good results then chanting Om with every breath.

Meditation in Gyan Mudra gives relief from anxiety, stress and tension. As a result, it helps to control and reduce hair fall related to stress.
